Kevin Nelson

I have been playing bass for over 40 years and graduated from the Musicians Institute of Los Angeles, California in 1991. I studied under world renowned jazz educator Charlie Banacos and privately with Jon Finn of the Berklee College of Music.

I have been a music instructor for over 30 years to adults and children both online and in person. I've instructed group lessons for Rock Camps and an after school guitar program that I both developed and taught at various schools.  I teach bass, guitar, and beginner piano. My experience developed my patience, as well as my ability to cater to individuals with participation or activity restrictions. Another one of my talents is creating and tailoring lessons to student's strengths and weaknesses.

I recently moved to Prescott, AZ from Boston where I played and recorded with numerous musicians including Carole King, Steven Tyler and Herb Reed and the Platters. My theater credits include Grease, Hair, The Sound of Music, Footloose and Legally Blonde.
